Contraband Days

The Contraband Days Festival in Lake Charles, LA. is a pirate themed festival that runs for 12 days over the first two weekends of May. It is one of Louisiana’s biggest festivals presenting over 100 events. Of the events, some of the favorites include: duck races, laser tag, arm wrestling competitions, pony rides, carnival rides, Krakken kid’s slide, and a sailboat regatta race. The festival includes great entertainment with concerts ranging from Christian and Gospel, to Country and Cajun, to Zydeco, Urban|R & B acts, Oldies, and Classic Rock.

During the festival I recommend that you take a stroll to 4421 Nelson Road in Lake Charles. This is a great little place to take a break from the chaos.
